A group of GMAC Financial
employees put on their work clothes April 18 to renovate
the facilities of the Girls’ After-School Partial
Hospitalization program. More than 20 employees got
busy cleaning up a basketball court, painting rooms
and gardening. In the past, Ft. Washington employees
have donated clothes, books and school supplies as well
as held a bowl-a-thon for the organization.
E'vette Arrington, a bankruptcy specialist in Ft. Washington
who runs the local Volunteer Action Network, attended
the event with her daughter Imani. “It was a great
experience for the both of us,” she said. “Volunteering
is something that everyone should become involved with
because it benefits not only the recipients but your
community as well. This event touched me very much because
it deals with children. I will definitely return to
volunteer again!” |
