Foster Care Supervisor

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Home Based Services, the supervisor provides supervision and direction to social work staff and the Foster Care Department to assure that services are delivered according to the highest quality clinical standards and according to regulatory and funding source guidelines. S/he provides leadership, planning, training, and clinical support necessary to implement principles of best practice: monitors program implementation by case managers, including services to the child, resource parent and biological parent.

The Foster Care Supervisor has a thorough understanding of the regulations (3700’s) and contracts (PBC) guiding the work in the foster care department. The contract with Philadelphia Department of Human Services guides the majority of the work within the foster care department that is performance based. The qualified applicant must have an understanding of Performance Based Contracting in the City of Philadelphia.

Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree

Experience:

  • One (1) year supervisory experience with one (1) year clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families or;
  • Three (3) years clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families

Special Skills:

  • Computer skills including MS Office.
  • Experience working with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and/or experience working under Performance Based Contracting required
