Resource Parent Certification Specialist

Summary: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Home-Based Services, the Resource Parent Certification Specialist is responsible for the initial certification and recertification of resource homes within the foster, kinship, and adoption programs. The Resource Parent Certification Specialist will ensure that all prospective resource homes meet agency, county and state regulations.

The position is also responsible for the ongoing monitoring of approved resource homes to ensure compliance with state, county and agency regulations. In addition to these responsibilities, the incumbent will directly provide or arrange training opportunities for prospective and current resource parents as well as facilitating activities that support and retain resource parents.

Education: Bachelors Degree required; Master’s preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in child welfare, social services, training, recruitment or education
• Direct experience with foster care, kinship care and/or adoption preferred

Special Skills:

• Computer skills including MS Office

Other Requirements:

• Experience working with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services.
• Experience working under Performance Based Contracting desirable.
• Current valid driver’s license and the willingness to drive within the five county area
• Requires flexible work schedule, evening and weekend hours.
