Social Work Supervisor – Generations I
Summary: The Social Work Supervisor of the
Generations I transitional living program oversees the clinical
direction of the program. Working a varied schedule, the social
work supervisor will be afforded the opportunity to monitor
the full and part time support staff as well as monitor the
weekend and weekday schedules of the residents. As stated
above, the social work supervisor will have supervision duties
of the full and part time staff to ensure that services are
being rendered in accordance with the 3800 regulations and
best practice.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Residential
Services, s/he establishes effective relationships with the
Department of Human Services (DHS), Community Behavioral Health,
Family Court systems, Philadelphia School District, Northern
Home’s admissions department and other agency staff
and works closely with these parties to ensure quality service
delivery. S/he supervises the linkage of the program to effective
educational programs for the young mothers, including life
skills and parenting techniques.
S/he oversees the work of the Academic Specialist and the
weekend support staff to ensure the program meets with regulatory
guidelines and has superior service delivery. The Social Work/Supervisor
will provide extremely close oversight for first 60 days after
admission during their stay and be responsible for discharge
planning for the consumer(s) as they get closer to discharge.
S/he also assures the program provides the youth with a highly
structured and supportive therapeutic community. The Social
Work/Supervisor will be familiar with female experiences such
as parenting, dating and medical conditions relating to women.
Education: Minimum-Master's Degree in Human
Services required. Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred
Experience:
- Two (2) years experience in social service organizations.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience
- Group and Family therapy experience. Teen mother/baby
experience preferred
Special Skills: Computer skills including
MS Office. Ability to navigate multiple systems.
Other Requirements:
- Current valid driver’s license and the willingness
to drive through the five county area
- Requires flexible work schedule, evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to operate a calculator and computer.
Other Requirements:
- Excellent working knowledge of clinical issues relating
to children, adolescents or families.
- Good working knowledge of the systems that affect the
consumers including Childlink, WIC, educational system (public
school, higher education, GED programs, etc), health system,
and behavioral health system
